Walter

Suddenly his wife approched him with a foul smile, “did you forget something, I’ve never seen you get so worked up about anything?”. Walter turned his shoulder. “No, I just” his cheaks flushed with embarrassment, “Did you get what you were looking for, are you ready to go?”. “The Woman at the till was quite the rant, I couldn’t take another second of it, my gosh Walter get your hankercheif off that dirty side walk”. Walter turned his shoulder again. “Now I’ll have to bleach it as soon as we get home, unless your fine with the flu!” She placed the keys in his hand and preceded tworded the pasengers seat still ranting about his handkerchied. As if coming out of a daze, he initially started to trail behind his wife twords the passenger seat. “phhhh, ugggh.. Wake up walter, wake up”
“All these small town drivers are so arrogant, carefull on this turn up ahead dear” Walter responded by raising his right eye brow. As much as he despised devoting a full day to shopping, he had built up more of a passion againt the long drive on the 97 home. Suddenly there was a box in the middle of his lane. Quickly without thinking he spun his steering wheel left nearly going off road, than maneuvered back in a matter of seconds. As if she wife wasent right beside him, his wife kept reading her readers digest. When he put his eyes back on the road, they were everywhere! “land mines sir, they’re everywhere!”. “We have to loose the tank before we start worrying about simple problems!” shouted walter. “but sir..!”, “Oh shush up and send a couple rounds their way, put some use to yourself soldior”. Moving as fast as lightning, he had a birds eye view of every single pike sticking out of the high way. “Sir, they’re planes are on to us!” screamed the soldior in the back seats, “They’re AR15’s will rip us in half Air, They’re bombs will drop like rain!”. Walter was sweating like a pig and his handkerchief had greese all over it “Sir, Turn now!” He jerked his steering wheel the the right this time going off road to the heart of all the land mines. Peaking over his left shoulder he caught a glimps of the trail of ruens where the high way use to be. “Boys, looks like we’re in for one heck of a night!”
“Walter, are you even listening to me!”
